# Import Bookings & Users

Import existing bookings and customers from an Excel file.

Use the import to move bookings and customers from another system or a spreadsheet into CodiCo Dispatch. Open **Tools → Bookings/Users Import**.

The list shows earlier imports with their **ID**, **File Name**, **Description**, **Status**, **Created At** and **Logs**. Each import has **Edit**, **Import** and **Delete** buttons.

## Import a file

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Download the template

Click **Add new**, then click **template for your data import** to download the Excel template. Fill in your data.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Don't change the column names or their order, and don't add columns or tabs. The import relies on the template layout.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Upload the file

Select your **XLS** or **XLSX** file, add a **Description** if you want, and click **Upload**.

The file is added to the list with the status *Pending*. Uploading alone does not import the data.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Run the import

Click **Import** next to the file to import it. Check **Status** and **Logs** afterwards to see the result.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Try the import with a few rows first and check the result in **Bookings** and **People & Companies → Customers** before you import everything.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://codico-dispatch.gitbook.io/documentation/tools/import-bookings-and-users.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
